Got one (or several) in my completely sealed roof space and they're running a riot during the night, making all sorts of noise and damaging god knows what. I've laid a trap outside but have yet to secure the ba5tard - he/she has eaten all eggs laid just before the trap but will not go inside seemingly. I've taken to installing an access panel into my ceiling today with the intention to either lay rat traps (kill it) or install ultrasonic device.

Appreciate if anyone else has any problems with these fvckers.

P.S I do intend to eventually seal up all possible entrance points in the roofspace. I had hoped to narrow the entrance point down to a specific area but alas, my webcams are not successfully catching where they enter/exit during the night.

You need to focus on how they are getting in, or accessing the roof at all and block it. They can get through an opening only big enough for a mouse and you don't want those either.

Feeding them eggs is likely making them more keen to get in and bring friends too. If there's no food and it's hard to get in they will go elsewhere.

If you know they are weasel(y) then you've seen them right? In which case Perhaps you can sit up with an air rifle and dispatch them/it as they come/go.

Pine Martins are protected therefore the should be someone you can get in to catch them for you.

Why not phone some wildlife charities and see what they say.

Mice, rats... kill away but wizzles are cute Shocked

It's a bit elaborate but cloud machine (or a vaping friend!) plus positive pressure and see where the smoke leaks out to find the holes Smile

I didn't think we had Beech Marten's in this country. Do you live abroad?

Before you do anything it may be worth researching whether they are protected species in your country and whether you need a European Protected Species License to remove them like you do for certain critters in the UK. I know removing certain critters without a license in this country can land you with up to 6 months...

If you do, you need to research the breeding season, because licenses usually allow you to undertake work that removes roosting/nesting habitat out of season on condition that you make alternative habitat available.

CO2 bomb/extinguisher will draw it out and cause minimal damage.

Car valet bombs too, but really, you could just don some bike gear and get in there. Scruff of the neck into a deep bin, release into wild.

If you are close, I'll happily remove them for you, they aren't that bad!

Damn I'd love to have the naughty little things living with me!

But, wild animals are there because food and shelter. You need to interrupt those to move them on. (though they'll return now and then)

They're clever little things and have particular ways of how they go about doing what they do. You'll need a special trap (non lethal) which is specifically designed to lure them in.
Once you catch them, take them for a 50 mile drive.
Reminds me of this:

I just cut in a new access panel into the ceiling today only to find the roof space isn't singular; its split into 3 with no access between each area from the roof space. Bugger installing 2 more of those cvnting access panels!

Correct. I live in Belgium where they are seemingly protected but it doesn't deter me much in my attempt to get rid of it. Ultrasonic seems to be the best way although proving what device is best is not easy.

I've seen it twice; once on camera and the other time, through the Velux. Unfortunately, it's a rather large house with a not so straight forward roof design so being able to narrow it down to one or two specific entrance points is difficult. Hence the cameras - theyre not sensitive enough to capture it leaving though or even scampering about on the roof.

If you don't want to spend hours and hours and hours waiting to shoot it; and you don't want to poison it, or use a Fenn trap (if you do, anchor it!); use something like this:

https://www.trapman.co.uk/trap-man-live-capture-weasel-trap.htm

Then take it on its holidays a long way away to a suitable environment.

I have one of those traps albeit placed outside. I may consider placing it in the attic now since Ive finally got THEM on camera. Looks like 2, possibly 3 of them.

Noise by the sound of things (sh*t joke. Sorry)

I do know that once animals get into cavities they can be a nuisance.
A local terraced street here once got infested with rats which lived in the front wall. They bred and bred and in the end all 80 houses had rats in the front cavity wall.
Those walls were brick but the rats could still be heard scurrying about.
Took over a year to finally kill them all.

I put an access panel into the ceiling yesterday and the insulation in most areas looks to be shredded alongwith lots of foreign materials brought in by them. Hoping its not rotting carcasses but it's a good possibility. After reviewing the footage, there is definitely at least 3 of them on the camera last night so suspect its 4 in total - mum and 3 youngsters. They're cute lil buggers for sure. However, they make a hell of a racket running about and are getting noisier as they get older. I'm sure they're tearing the place apart up there. I'm pumping music into the attic during the day now and will get ultrasonic device. I'll also look to get someone to go on the roof and seal all the holes up soon.

I'd really suggest a gas grenade, only because you'll clear them out (they'll escape for air) and you'll see the hole (big old smoke plume)

Seal from outside and sorted. I'd not worry about the protection on them, they'll soon find new dwellings.

Smoke grenade is a great idea.

When we were younger, my Dad and myself would borrow rabbits from the landowners. One good way was instead of using ferrets to drive the rabbits from the burrows was to use a smoke grenade instead - you can buy smoke grenades to test drain systems on construction sites.
