Was browsing the market place for bikes when I see 2 project bikes for penny's, one was a fzr 400, guy had it as a 1998 which I knew was wrong, checked the dvla mot for more details it hasn't had an mot...ok..

Vehicle info via dvla says made 1989 registered 1997, last taxed 1998...

Bike is in pieces in boxes in a shitty way, can this bike genuinely only have done a years work and somehow ended up in bits?

Links to the ads?

I'd assume it hasn't only done a years work and that it's been used as a trackbike which was later cannibalised for spares or something along those lines and now the remains are being sold as a project bike.

Common for imports for a while at least that they'd end up with a newer plate than it should have for year of manufacture.
