Anyone know what happened? Prices were good on genuine parts.

One would venture that their prices were too good...?

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Didn't see that.. A shame to see all the investment in web-site development etc.. go to waste. Must be stock to dispose of too I guess.

Most of my X5 bits came from there.

It’s now much harder to find NOS stuff with Dean closing.

I suppose we are getting used to on line being available 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

It's one thing for Amazon to work like that but completely different for a 1/2 man operation.

Who the fuck asked you for business advice?

Maybe they didn’t want it to become a huge thing with the hassle of taking on employees, bigger premises etc?

One or two people to work part time to alleviate the pressure/stress wouldn't have broke the bank, would it?
Its hardly what I'd call expansion.

Care to explain how they could afford to do that?

Min wage £8.21. Along with all the other costs...

One or two people. People who must be paid at least minimum wage - more if you want to keep them and attract good'uns. Then you have to provide them a pension. And a place to sit/work, which is safe and healthy.

If your profits are thin already, all of the above comes out of it. So yes, one or two people could break the bank.

People who run small businesses do often work very long hours. The reason they do it is because it's the most profitable use of their time and the resources they invested into that business. If some more profitable opportunity comes along, i.e. a better use of their time and investment, then they will close that business.

I was able to find annual accounts for this company for the years 2015-2017 on the Companies House website. It was a husband-and-wife business. The accounts are interesting. They reported a rolling debt (from a family member?) of £50K year on year. Their assets very closely matched their liabilities, leaving very little taxable. From this, I assume that the accounts were made-up professionally, and they were doing pretty well up to 2017. No accounts filed in 2018 can be seen, but the wife was added as a director that year. With the wife on the books, it probably wasn't possible to add employees.

You seem upset. Can't you just hire a part time therapist?
