A mate is selling some bikes on behalf of a relative whos husband died unexpectedly. He asked me to put info out there, they're selling his bike collection to help tide his widow over the next tricky patch because he was the main bread-winner.
It's on ebay as a "cafe racer" but we couldn't fit "barn find" into the title too. It's really more of a race bike that's been road registered with a daylight only MOT though.
The owner was a reasonably successful club racer and was into aircooled yamaha 2-strokes.
There was all manner of stuff in the shed including old TZ race parts etc but this is a bike he'd obviously built and put on the road for a bit of fun, probably using race spares. Every possability he raced it too because there are more than a few lockwires on it. Most of the other stuff is much more specialised and clearly race only tackle and will probably go into the Stafford auction
While it looks like a tatty piece of shite, there is almost certainly more too this than meets the eye, he built it to ride himself and while the motor sounds lumpy and latchy on the video, he had enough trophies in the cupboard to suggest he knew what he was doing with them.
It's not going to be cheap, I'm not sure what reserve is on it. Equally, I suspect it may turn out to be more than a wee bit poked. If nothing else, you don't bolt £1100 of shocks and a custom yoke with 4-pot conversion to a bag of spanners. Comes with a spare frame that matches the engine number.
