Hi, I have never done fork seals before, how easy is it?
Do I need dust seals as well and do I need to change the oil in whilst I'm at it?
Any help & tips would be appreciated thanks...

Pissing about with forks: straightforward job, YouTube is your friend there. If you're going to the trouble of changing the seals you may as well do all the work you can...

Getting the forks off and on the bike is another story!

Here's one: Crack open the cap nuts before taking the forks out of the yokes. Saves a load of agro trying to stop the fork from turning while you undo it!

Depends why they've gone too. Are the stanchions pitted? If they are, that'll need dealing with.

How badly are they leaking?

If it's just a smear of oil it might just be muck under the seals.

If I was stripping one down, I'd be changing the bushings too.

Pay someone else to do it. Twat of a job and I’m pretty skilled on the spanners.

Had my ER6 2008 from new and never had a leaking fork seal but then I fitted Gaitors from new. I changed the seals at 70,000ish miles as a precaution.

Seals are easy to do on these, once the fork legs are off should take less than 30 minutes a side and you should be replacing the bushes as well.
