Hiya folks,
I am recently known as Sirclip, but previously posted under another name till shit happened, ya all know how life can get in the way of stuff, ye?
Anyroad, was disabled from riding following an accident in november 2017, am just barely able to ride a moped to work now ( although just made redundant)
(many of the bones in my left foot were mashed, still hard for me to manipulate a gear lever)
So, that's a bit of an intro, have ben here for a while.....

One thing Ive noticed about our beloved socks, is, that they don't start off as tentative, hesitant, newcomers.
No, they are quite confident in their supposed new social environment, and after a while, you might notice that the apparrent lack of knowledge about a certain subject becomes a fount of knowledge.
I have seen certain account holders develop deep knowledge about the habbits and behaviour of forum members that must have taken years to accumulate, only for them to be here for a few months to aquire?

I point you to Poundshop Dave...
Within a month, he had aquired the etiqute and social graces of BCF, a lot shorter im sure, i can't quite remember. He certainly made his way into your hearts and minds with little effort, didn't he?
Not that I have anything against socks, Im too young to remember Tritey but some of his posts were absolute gold, I even have a remincent fondness for a certain toothless layby shitting sprocket welding....but, I hope you get my point.

Not Roger, he marched off rifle on shoulder to join the ranks
of the Royal Airsoft Regiment leaving nothing but an echoing pew! pew! in his wake.
He wouldn't have misspelled etiquette.

Op sounds like he's been banned, snuck back in and getting off to a poor re-start
I agree with OGR..

I can't think of another reason, unless it's wanting a change that can only be had by re-registering, in which case surely "Hi! I used to be previoususername" would ensure continuity.

Point of order.
That does not look like the captain of the STARSHIP ENTERPRISE.
It looks more like Scotty, as in "Beam me up..."

Yep but in the original panel Spock is calling him Captain. I just assume the colourist screwed up the hair on the comic... Unless it's a younger pre-grey hair Captain Pike.

Also if it were Scotty, it'd say something like "laddie, I dinnae heard of a black hole...

The original panel says "Have you ever heard of something called a *black Hole* Captain?"
Then Shatner replies:

"I'm. Afraid. Not. Mr Spock. Pleasexplain" in his cadence.

"Are you actually trying to get this account banned?"
Not at all.
I quite like it here, but i changed my isp a while ago, and due to being stupid, forgot my login credentials. (sorry, but i can't create a unique password for each and every website I have ever registered with over the last 18 years and be expected tp remember them all)
I've been here for about 4 years and had 4 or 5 green blobs.
Sorry if I came over as being a dickhead in my posts, but yeah, I can be a bit of a moron when i'm pissed, which is mainly the times i log on!

I've followed the exploits and adventures of many of you for years to consider many of you as friends (online friends, yeah, but some of you i would bend over backwards for) and although I didn't contribute much in the way of technical no-how, I did contribute enough to at least earn 5 green blobs.
(actually, thinking about i, I may have had a gold)

Anyway, my post about "How to spot a sock" was to highlight the following:
A), the user is immediately familliar with the codes and conventions of the group, and makes no obvious mistakes.

B) posts exclusively in a few forums

C) after a short while, seems to know things only a long-time member would know ( yes, yes, they might have read all the posts i suppose)

In short, they have just joined, know how to work it, have gold blobs and shit in no time, there is a pattern. (£shop dave, anyone?)

My point is, there is an obvious stinky sock!
No, I do not have any balloons.

You can't say that and then not say which account you're making reference to. Razz

Don't you just love the intrigue?
Of course, when he's outed, we shall all see the claims of "Yeah, thought he was dodgy/too good to be true/bullshitting tosser/etc

Tell ya what, I will write the name down and seal it in an envelope, and then when you have all guessed, and he has been revealed, i will open it and show you Smile

Nobody cares enough to start guessing because sooner or later, all socks reveal themselves. Laughing

If they want to spend time building up their sock persona then good luck to them. I'm pretty sure there's only one person who's not allowed back on here under any circumstances so it's easier to just leave 'em to it and let them identify themselves.
