I either have an intermittently slow/fast puncture, or someone at work is letting it down. Soapy spray shows no bubbles, the valve is new, and good. Holds pressure overnight, flat after a couple hours at work. I have not checked pressure after arriving at work but appears full with thumb press. I will start checking!
I did check 5 miles into my 30mile journey and it was fine.

Tire is a rear road 5 with two puncture repairs. One is new, the other appears good, and has freshly applied liner sealant to be sure.

I had this many years ago, dull bastard at work letting my tyres down because i "parked in his space".

Cover the valve and cap in a thin smear of grease when you park up, if it gets tampered with you will be able to see.

I resorted to valve caps that lock with a grub screw.

If it's not going down overnight then I think you have the answer.

Permanent ink all over the valve cap when you leave it parked (in your usual place at the usual time). You'll find the culprit away from his desk, futilely washing his hands, or avoiding you all day.

Once in a while you'll find a tyre does this for no apparent reason, my current front BT023 which has never had a puncture loses about 10psi after 100 miles of leasuerly commuting. Last tyre didn't so the rim's probably ok.

If it's not someone letting it down, I once had a tyre which would slow leak but only if left parked in a certain position. It had a tiny puncture which leaked only when the rubber around the hole was slightly distorted with the machines weight.

New items have to be suspect unless it was leaking before. I once had a valve stem which would leak only when pushed to one side (it would leak at the base), and I avoid heavy and right-angled valve caps for the same reason. Centrifugal force has an influence.

So it only ‘leaks’ when parked at work for what, ten hours a day? Doesn’t leak during the other 14? That seems odd...
I’m not sure I’d be looking for a puncture, more like someone I’ve pissed off / someone who thinks they’re funny...

Fuuuuuu

I was wrong. It is a slow/fast intermitent leak. Its lost 20 psi in the 4 hours Ive been home. This is good, it means the bastards at work are not currently fucking with my bike, but raises the question Where is the leak. It has a new puncture repair, plus I pulled glass from a deep cut, also I noticed there was no violent pop of the bead, it seated smoothley with no sound, but appears fully seated.

Squirt soapy water everywhere, tyre, valve, valve seat, valve cap off and inside valve, all round the rim where it meets the tyre, inside the rim and hub, even the cast spokes.

Cast wheels can form microscopic cracks anywhere, not just the rim.

Losing that much air should be obvious.

Every time I've had a problem like that, it's been a rim leak.

Just a thought: Check that the valve core is firmly screwed in.

I had this recently - I could hear a tiny hiss after checking the rear tyre pressure. Turned out the valve core had almost unscrewed itself.

A quick turn with a valve tool and all is well again.

Soapy water did not reveal the leak. Ages ago I bought from Lidl, a small bicycle can of tyre sealant for 2 quid. About the size of a toothpaste tube. I did use it, worked well, holding pressure, tho I note it has added significant back pressure when inflating, makes little air pump work a lot harder. This stuff foams and expands. There was none visible to indicate where the leak came from.

Undecided if I will strip the tire off for inspection, it has 3-5k miles left in it.

Bought a tin of bead sealer, plus some aluminium screw in valves. I will have another look at getting a in wheel TPMS.

Putting it in water and then using a ratchet strap to force pressure onto the tyre would show it.
