Is my throttle cable the problem with high revs?

I have a speedfight 3 and its been idling high and I thought the problem was a vacuum leak, but I've sprayed on the wd40 and no change in revs. It only idles a little higher than normal. at 3k rev when normal is 1.5/2 I am thinking maybe it might be the throttle cable getting a little stuck as it doesn't do it all the time but I am worried its going to mess the engine up if I don't sort it. does anyone have any ideas? I've changed the oil and the air filter too. made sure all the connections are air tight too any help would be gratefully received!
