Minging jacket you'd only consider washing once a year? Don't think a washing machine will do it much good! Better to take it to a dry cleaners, ~£10 to £20.

You can risk it, use wool program with minimal detergent, they will take about a week to dry.
I have done it before and they were actually more soft and comfortable after but perhaps not as safe(?)

Inside or outside? Lining removable to wash? Sponge mildly soapy water around the outside and allow to dry naturally?

never even thought about putting leathers in the wash, if its got a zip out lining then bung that in the wash.

I've always just cleaned the outside of mine with a sponge and hot soapy water to clean of any visible dirt

I've thought about it after looking up ways to fit back into them (the beers caught up with me). On some websites it says that soaking them can make them give a bit. Then I thought, what if they shrink in the wash... So I decided to lose a few pounds instead.

Buy a leather cleaner (scrub with a small bristle brush) and feeder from halfords for the outside, febreze for the inside and then air outside.

I also use a black leather cream once a year to make them look refreshed too.

Saddle soap on the outside. Sponge clean the liner.

Or go out and ride in the rain.
