Hello everyone, I've bought myself a Yamaha 125 SR to get me through my CBT, it needs a little TLC to get to an acceptable condition for me, as a car technician not really a problem.
BUT, on my logbook it's stated as a Yamaha 125 SR 2005 but every time I search, I come up with different looking bike.

Any help would be really appreciated
Chris

It simply isn't an SR125. It's what Fisty said it is.

Try to find out why the logbook says it's an SR125. Check the engine number and VIN number. Look for signs of tampering, etc.

It has a lot of similarities to the 2010 one I have outside that I'm working on,
so reckon pre EFI YBR125 (2007) stuff will fit and quite possibly some later stuff too.

Have you checked everything on your logbook yet as advised?

frame/engine no. Year, even the reg no. because that has never seen the inside of a factory that made an SR125.

Hi, yes I have and it all corresponds, with a bit more digging it looks like a 125 Fazer custom or a YBR 125, take your pick!
When I put the reg in for an insurance quote it came back as Yamaha SR 125 Custom?????

Since when do you need your own bike to do a CBT?

You couldn't legally even ride it to the training centre.

Unless you already had a CBT from just under 2 years ago and were renewing it Wink

Though I have a feeling the OP intending to phase that differently.

I don't want to be a rider who gets his CBT and full bike licence in one go only to then go buy a 1000c plastic bullet and kill myself or somebody else.
Once I have my CBT I intend to ride the 125 for 6 months to a year then consider taking my full bike licence test and perhaps getting something bigger.

After a lot of searching, it appears to be a Yamaha 125 Fazer Limited Edition!
It's a bit of a fugly mongrel, but will serve a purpose.

Yeah my GSX750 has some nonsense about being a Katana.
But (I can't remember which) either it does or it doesn't show up in the log book with that.

Its got a sorta Katana shape, but ... it seems not 100% so.
And there isn't that little snazzy swordy-lookin logo anywhere on it either.
