Cleaning your bike

Getting a bit low on supplies and would welcome product suggestions...

General Cleaning - got some Fenwicks to try in place of the stuff that rhymes with "Fuck Off"

Degreaser (e.g. chain) - mate at work recommends just bog standard Kerosene

Brake disc cleaner - I still have plenty left

Anti-corrosion - ACF-50 still the weapon of choice?

Chrome - Autosol seems to do the job for me

Polish for tank/fairings/panels - suggestions?

Chain lube - looking for suggestions of good all weather stuff

Paraffin for the chain. ACF50 for anti-corrosion. Castrol Racing as chain lube. Autosol for the shiny metal bits and Collinite 476s for the painted bits (overkill, but I have it for my car). All seems to work pretty well.

Paraffin for degreasing, gear oil for the chain, ACF50 for winter, WD40 and kitchen roll or old T shirt for a quick once over. Although I'm off to the Peak District for a long weekend, so I might get the hose out when I'm back.

Waterless spray for the body work/ engine casings, ACF50 for plastics/anti corrosion, paraffine and wurth dry lube on the chain

Bucket and a sponge with washing up liquid, go over with Mr Sheene on a duster, oil chain with oil can. Rinse and repeat.
I look at some of these threads and think you must be really really bored with life to think them up.
Life isn't that complicated, ask my '85 YPVS, never restored or my '02 R1150RS. Just wash it when it needs it, maintain it, ride it.

Parrafin for the chain

We're all just marking off the days...

Personally I find it very meditative, washing the bike, not quite as good riding it obviously but it's satisfying when someone drops a comment like "when did you get this? it looks new..."
