I've had a car licence for over 20 years. When I pass the Mod 2 in a couple of weeks I'll get a licence back with the magic "A" slapped on it.

Does it say on there I've only recently had the "A" ?! Doesn't seem quite right...

Yes, it will state the date of your Mod 2 pass on the reverse of the licence photocard, where there's a table, under the column headed "10".

You're taking the test at Uxbridge, aren't you? If the examiner feels like it, or if you take a wrong turn, you could end up going through the residential back streets. In that case, there's a wide one-way road, and he'll ask you to turn right or left at the end. It's easy to miss the one-way sign, so look out for it and watch your lane positioning.

Doh! I knew it was a daft question, how could I forget the back of the card.

Having said that do insurance companies ever ask how long you've had an entitlement or is how long have you had a licence?

Nice, I'll keep that in mind. There are a few videos of the Uxbridge test I've watched (and rewatched!) plus I've ridden there and back on the MT07 for the Mod 1 plus I've driven around that way a few times for work...

That being said I'll take all the help I can get!

They ask you how long you have held a licence for that category. Which, as much as they are cunts, is kind of their more reasonable lines of assessing risk, so its a fair one, regardless of how long youve driven a wide, slow and more visible vehicle

Something I'll have to watch out for next time I fill in a form: how long I've had a licence vs how long I've had an entitlement... best not get that wrong!
