I would find wiring/colour diagrams for both bikes and engines before connecting any power source.

I have a diagram but the previous owner has fiddled with them disconnecting and changing the colors taking ties off ect that's the part that's baffling me. I have previously rebuilt 2 of the 50 ccs im happy enough with my starting points
1- 50cc is a 2-stroke 125cc is a 4-stroke
2- neither have gears
3- I have cleaned carbs on both bikes, checked spark plugs(replaced both), checked battery's, flushed both tanks (one had a sticky float replaced that too just in case they got running)
I was looking to up the idle to see if that had any effect but decided against it for the time being. I had 3 of the 50ccs previously 1 was stripped down for spares, the other 2 used parts of the spare, was nothing major needed on one (carb cleaned, filters cleaned, changed spark plugs and put a tiny bit of fuel in there flushed tank out and charged the battery that one ran. the other was a case of stripping it down and completely cleaning everything replacing parts as I went and that's one got up and running too but due to other commitments I really don't want to have to completely strip it down again, if it come to it I will but I thought id check here for advice around it first.
