Okay, click bait thread title but they are implying he's a grammar nazi. I don't know what I find more bizarre: JRM's Victorian view of language or the fact the BBC thinks such drivel constitutes a news story.

Thread topic: Jacob Rees-Mogg called grammer 'Nazi' in clickbait news article.

mpd72: The days of socialist wankers being able to silence any opposition with inappropriate race cards is coming to an end.

Yet you seem quite content with shutting down discussions from the government's political opposition because - inappropriate race card - you see half of them as Jew-haters ever since the narrative was spun up.

Much as it pains me to admit but I have to go with Lord Percy on this: inserting agendas into threads is... unseemly.

I was quite up for a slapping like "HD, you git, enough of the clickbaity threads!" or "but JRM is Victorian Dad!"

Oh the irony of me, of all people, asking for a thread to stay on topic Rolling Eyes

One thing the French won.

Really pleasant guy to speak to actually. Polite and engaging, despite he and I having very opposite backgrounds
perfectly happy to talk with someone like me. He's doorstepped me the once (my MP) and later remembered speaking to
me when I met him in the High street when he was on the campaign trail some time later. Even down to the Street name
and roughly what we chatted about what we which I though was extraordinary. Although he probably doesn't meet
many Londoners where I live so maybe it was my accent that stuck in his mind. He and I have very little in common but
I can't honestly say that anything about his background really offends me. He's a bit religious I suppose but not preachy
unless questioned on such things, he's for traditional family values, I don't want kids at all. But still we managed to chat
amicably on the subject, he had his son with him when I met him in the street, a polite, bright kid even if he's a
bit of a mini me to his dad. He'll go far anyway, no doubt. Fair play to them all. My wife speaks with what you might call
a fairly posh accent, so I'm quite used to hearing one and wouldn't judge someone harshly for speaking in that way.
Mine... Not so posh. Laughing Also, he was in the street with no apparent security present and no (visible) Police so I think
that says a lot about someone like him who is an easy target for some to vent at.

Still measure everything in thou's, use PSI and not bar, and drink in pints.

Because he's posh? As far as politicians go, he seems to talk a lot more sense than most, so what makes him a twat in your eyes?

Whether he's posh or not doesn't tell me anything as regards his twattness.

His views on abortion give me a tell that he's a grade A twat and that was before it came out his investments in abortion pills made him some profit.

I'll give you the pints, but PSI and thousandths? Nah! In fact I doubt if I could read my Imperial micrometer without much head scratching, it's so long since I needed to use it. Laughing

Ask them what size tyres their car takes.

Or the thread size on their bicycle pedals.

Or the size of their motorcycle or bicycle drive chain.

Me too, most of my measuring equipment at work is imperial. Can do metric as well but prefer imperial.
Still order aluminium bar in imperial diameters even though stockist convert it to metric which is stupid. Get slated for ordering imperial diameter and metric length.
Also still weigh myself in stones and pounds.

I'm sure one would live longer if one were to chill out a bit...

Anyhoo, I suspect the BBC researchers have been feverishly trying to find some dirt on JRM and drawn a blank. Family man with his own money, no interest in fiddling expenses, sleeping with prostitutes, gambling, drugs... I suspect he only thinks oranges are for eating!

Surely there would be better topics for attack. There was one a while back, what was it? it's on the tip of my tongue... begins with "B" Wink

And I could do with losing a couple of stone in weight
