They're not that expansive to rebuild. One of my old NSR's detonated a piston taking out the barrel and head with it.
I replaced the barrel, head, piston, rings, small end bearings, PV seals, head and base gaskets, with genuine Honda spares for a little over £200 from David Silver Spares.
That engine will be good to go for another 10,000 miles.
Has anyone looked at the extent of the damage of this dead one yet? ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.
