Well done to the Spanish Police & Prosecution.

I live in an area which is scenicly beautiful, but scum think its fun to deposit their crap.

They should probably do that here more often, the amount of shite around the place compared to France / spain shows we've a serious problem here

It makes for a mildly amusing story but, can you imagine anyone over here a) being that bothered about being forced to go and pick it back up, chances are they probably dump it somewhere else a few hours later or b) bothering to pay back the £40k fine, they'll probably arrange to pay it back at a tenner a week or whatever.

Could you imagine what would happen here if said pikey was injured in the process of retrieving that fridge?

In the UK they'd have to have taxpayer-funded risk assessments, hi-viz overalls, elbow and knee pads, a hard hat and insurance before being sent to fetch the fridge back lest they graze a knee and become a litigious victim of State oppression/ police brutality.

I see fly tipping out here more and more. Now the local tip Ooops I mean Recycling centre... Rolling Eyes has ANPR, and a
permit system, rather unsurprisingly certain people who may have at least dumped their off the books trade waste
at the tip now just drop it in the lanes instead, and the council end up having to go and collect it regardless. Costs me
either way, I'd sooner the countryside wasn't blighted to boot.

Put gates up to stop people in vans accessing the countryside.

What was the problem?

Make the council tips free again and have big fines and vehicle crushing for fly tippers.

It's got to cost more going out cleaning up the countryside.

MK council have a novel way of combating fly tipping. Carparks on the Parks trust land where fly tipping has occurred, they block off with concrete blocks so no one can get in.

No fly tipping & no visitors Rolling Eyes

There is a cracking green lane on the Northants/Cambs border. It suffered with fly tipping, which is of course illegal.

The councils solution to this, was to make it illegal to drive along the byway. Rolling Eyes Crying or Very sad

fortunately after much wrangling, motorcycles are still allowed, for now.

Fly tipping is worse since the introduction of waste carriers licenses.

Also, the local busy bodies at my tip, turned my neighbour away. He doesn't drive, and wheeled an office chair down there. They wouldn't let him in, and he wheeled it home again.

I'd have just left it at the gate.

Agree. Ours has the cheek to charge £13 for per load of hard core.... Which they then use for their own projects....
