I know that Korn and Zimma probably had this conversation a long time ago, but basically, which bike would you pick out of the two, and why?!

I like them both and have my test booked within the next week so will be looking to sort myself out with a bike very soon, taking full advantage of the winter prices hopefully.

I thank you in advance Thumbs Up

Cant go wrong with the Rvf. Heard it handles the best. Plus it will have better built quality.

Probably the zxr, because they aren't so overpriced. Handling differences are pretty minor between all the 400s really.

Personally I'd also consider a VFR, can be picked up for not much; close ratio gearbox means it aint so good for town, but better for track though.

The position of the RVF suited me more than the zxr so i went for that. Get one thats been looked after to a good extent and you cant really go wrong, both great bikes. People always say get the best you can afford, maybe for your first real bike don't take this advice, get a cheap vfr or cbr and if you'd still like a Rvf go for one, as some say their over priced and dearer than the other 400's but the looks and comments from others (even car drivers) will justify the few extra ££'s or is that just me Razz

For the difference in price between the RVF and the VFR, you can get one in good nick and spend the difference on trick bits.

Or a CBR400RR for even less (if you look about for an NC23, the tri-arm) and have even more change. VFRs are probably better when tuned, however it's ultimately up to the rider Smile

find a rough RVF, ride it and fix it over a year, then sell it for more than you paid!

The ten+ track days you could do with the difference in price between the two would justify the vfr for me Smile.

You could get a full race system for the difference in price, or some suspension work and a half system maybe. It's apparently easier to make the VFR handle better than make the RVF go faster, or so I'm told.
