Yamaha XSR155 was launched in Thailand.
It's a retro version of MT-15.
What do you think?

google translation of official web page

This bike reaches 141km/h(88mph). Fairly quick for 155 isn't this?
Acceleration looks good too.

I like it, its a simple looking thing with basic looking fittings.
The tech is there but its understated.
Gotta have a spin on the 900.

I like this style too. I like conventional long seat better than MT styling.
There's a rumor about 250/300 versions too.

*note : young machine sometimes writes wrong scoops*

I do hope 125, 250, and 300 versions coming too after this 155.

I like that. Thumbs Up

What's with 155cc though? Is that a Thai licence level?

It looks like bigger bikes = heavier tax in Thailand.

But big bikes market is getting little by little larger there I heard.

There seems to be no classification in motorcycle license there.
Only cc restriction for Thai motorcycle licence is 110cc for those under 18 (15-17years old) according to my search result.

Looks pretty cool. I'd imagine they'd sleeve it down for the UK market if they decide to do it here.

I reckon it would have looked better/more retro with different wheels. Maybe like the curly cast alloys you got on LCs or the black with silver detail straight-spoked alloys they used to fit the the XS750.

That WR looks like a nice modern reasonably well specced and capable machine.

But!

Over here it'll be a 14.6bhp 125 and have a list price of £4600-4800 I expect.

16.5bhp from a 155cc bike is useful (well a touch more than 14.6bhp is), but it'll be no good for poor 17-19yr olds who'd get better value out of a 150cc bike 2year licence restriction.

Why did they de-tune it from 19bhp though for the WR. It'll have 6gears and a lower final drive ratio, and probably a map switch too, so why do it?

Overall a nice 125, but I bet both the 1980's Japanese 125 designer's and engineering teams are less easily impressed by them, and I bet nobody in Austria designing next year's 125's are loosing any sleep over the WR150.
