Hi all,

So, I have an R&G Tail tidy fitted to my XSR900. To cut a long story short the early tail tidies they sold for this bike (and presumably the MT-09 upon which this bike is based) caused the ABS light to flash on and off after the ABS has been applied when riding.

Now, I contacted R&G to report this, they acknowledged the fault and sent me out an in-line resistor which sits between the rear light and the rest of the wiring harness. Got this fitted without a problem and now the ABS and ABS light behaves as follows. I just don't know if this is correct or there is now another issue:

1.) Start up bike, ABS light comes on. It then goes off after a 15 seconds or so of riding.
2.) When at speed and if brakes are applied hard, I can feel the ABS kicking in but for some reason I was expecting to see the ABS light illuminate, but it doesn't.

Now, how is the ABS light meant to behave?

Advice appreciated.

If working correctly ABS light comes on at startup and goes out once you hit about 6mph at least that's how it is
on my MY15 MT09

Mine has never flashed any of the many times I've triggered it with front and rear brakes either before or after
I fitted an aftermarket tail tidy (Not a big brand one but from an independent UK manufacturer). Mine has an
LED numberplate light but it all functions exactly as it did with the OEM setup.

Sounds normal, XSR700 does this 15 second thing too .
If it lights up at other times its to indicate a fault.
