Afternoon folks,

My 790 Duke has done almost 4000 miles and over the last few weeks it's developed a screeching sound which is getting worse.

It seems to be clutch related:-
- happens when the engine is warm, never cold
- happens when rolled off the throttle in 2nd gear and above
- if you pull the clutch in, the sound goes and returns when the clutch is let out so rules out the engine or chain.

Has anyone else had this or can suggest what it may be ? I've mailed my dealer but it's a bank holiday here in the UK.

Cheers.

It's the clutch.

What grade oil are you using? Has the oil been changed recently? Is the clutch slipping or dragging? As the bike has only done 4000 miles I would have thought that it is unlikely to be anything mechanical and it may well be that a simple oil change using the manufacturers recommended grade of oil will fix the problem.
