Hey guys, first post & typically I'm after some advice.
Been riding for 36 years on & off, assortment of bikes, started on two strokes & then sports bikes, & in recent years dual purpose singles, but generally I've always found stuff around 600cc met my needs, although have ridden stuff up to 1500cc at times.
Anyway, back to the present, I'm thinking about a change again, & Aprillia Dorsoduro's have caught my eye, been looking at the usual online reviews which have mostly rated them as very good, the only small bugbears have been the little tank which then limits range & some issues with "snatchy" throttle response at lower speeds.
So I thought the 750 would be ideal, further digging highlighted the 900, & then last week I came across the 1200, which apparently is quite a beast (in a good way lol).
So my quandary is which one to go for, it would be varied use on all road types including occasional motorway runs of up to 160 miles in a day, I'm 6.2 & around 200kg, any info or recommendations would be greatly appreciated .
Thanks in advance.
Mark

Just looking over the 900; looks a lot of fun! They don't list the 750 or 1200 on the UK web site Sad

I can only say focus on what you'll do with it day-in, day-out and get the bike that suits that job. The occasional use scenarios you can usually get by on almost any bike. I'm guessing the 1200 is fucking insane but I question having that much power on long runs with little to no fairings.

Amazing how they churn out a spec sheet with no weight and no seat height!

I do like the V-twin (or L-twin even!)

I had a new 750 when they came out. Good points - great brakes and suspension as standard, looked and sounded good. Bad points - Throttle response was woeful in anything other than sport mode (maybe they've improved it now), even in sport it was impossible to hold at a constant rpm without hunting. Fuel economy was a joke, used to get 60/75 to a tank. The seat is like a plank, numb bum in 50 miles, I had the gel seat too. Vibey and too slow for me.
I got it as an alternative to sports bike but never really got on with it and how you had to ride it, eg from the rear wheel not the front. Chopped it in after less than a year.
