Average Vehicle Speeds on UK roads.

Rigids are limited to 56mph.
So dunno how the average is 60mph.

I tried to look at the source for that information but it's hidden behind a paywall.

It's not fake news.

It's 'Vague Info' you Trotter.

Some may be but it's not the legal limit.

Welcome to my enemy list, btw.

Enemy list what are you five? Razz Do you have secret little list hidden under your bed in which you write all the bad names in that have wronged you?
I was only messing about with the fake news but it's amusing that even that can trigger people.

I fully stand by what I said though. It is completely incorrect.

Every vehicle over 3.5 tonne has to have a tachograph and that tachograph has to be calibrated to 90km/ph in line with EU regs.(Yes there are exceptions but I am talking about 95%+ of goods vehicles on the road).

Now although they are limited to 90km/hr if the owner of the truck decides to put bald tyres on his truck before taking it to get calibrated he can then switch to new tyres after calibration to find his truck can do about 93/95 max usually. This is quite rare though and not that common.

So please tell me how that survey has any validity when it is claiming the average speeds of a rigid on UK roads is 60mph.

Also I am pretty sure the top speed of a bus is 58mph so I highly doubt it is the average speed. Rolling Eyes

How is it not fake news. :p
