 |
|
Hi Guys
Im new to riding and recently bought myself a YBR 125 last month. Im doing a service myself and other general maintenance around the bike including adjusting the chain, however I've noticed both adjusters are different to each other (see photos) the one on the exhaust side looks like the correct one but the one on the sprocket side looks different.
Can anyone shed some light on if this is okay or should I buy a replacement? I cant see how the "incorrect" one could adjust the chain
Thanks |

The chain tension adjusters being so different on each side will be doing bad things to the wheel bearings.
That is making the assumption that there isn't a reason why they're set like that.
You can use something long and straight, be it a piece of timber, piece of metal, a long enough ruler or spirit level, etc etc etc, to check how straight the wheel alignment. Hold the long straight thing against one side of the rear wheel and from that you can see what direction the wheel is pointing in compared to the bike. I hope that makes some type of sense, someone else will probably be able to explain it better than I have.
There are probably other mechanical oddities around the bike for you to find. |
