OK, guys. Since the rebuild finished last week, I have had a couple of teething issues.

1) the fuel gauge always shows full no matter how much fuel.

2) the temp gauge rises up the dial, but won't decrees. If I remove the sender wire it drops down to zero fine. Connect it back up, and it shows correct temp.

Both were working fine before the rebuild.

Any Ideas?

Normally, there are 3 wires to the guage.
1) earth
2) 12 v
3) actual reading.
The 12 v one acts as a reference and the needle goes up and down compared to this so check the 12v supply on the one that goes up but not down.

I think you've swapped the 12v and sender reading wires round on the one that reads max all the time.

I thought similar, however, the wires are to size to fit only the plugs designed too. also, the fuel sender is a block plug, so can only go one way.

Originally the temp gauge would not go up at all. I then found out that it earths to the frame via the housing, As I had powder coated the frame it did not earth.

I have since removed the powder coat, and it is now rising, but that's it!

There are three wires which go the fuel gauge and temp gauge. They should both have a green/black wire and a light brown/dark brown wire. The green/black wire is the earth wire and the light brown/dark brown wire is the 12v wire and should go to fuse A on the main fuse box. The fuel gauge has a grey/black wire that goes to the fuel sender and the temperature gauge has a blue/green wire that goes to the temp sensor.

Have you checked that you have a 12v and another somewhere between 0 and 12v getting to both guages?

Defoe power to both, as when unplug sender for fuel it drops. Yes it's a blue green on temp sensor. If remove the wire from temp sender and earth it rises. Un earth sensor wire it drops, so gauges in dash themselves are fine.

I think when fuel dropped I will remove and move fuel sender and try manual moving it.

Have you checked the connections on the senders? The temp sensor obviously earths itself and the fuel sender earths via a green/black wire.

I'm going try cleaning frame and housing again, as all was painted. Once fuel is low enough will remove sender and try moving. I did glue tank up and paint, so chance may have dripped inside holes and gummed up.

Needs to be something simple I've done, as both were fine before being stripped.

Fuel sender issue was the red plug. The plastic was worn so the 2 wires were touching inside the connector!
