2005 Suzuki van van 125 carburetor issues

My stepdaughter recently bought a 2005 Suzuki Van Van 125 as her first bike. It now has a problem with the carburetor. Fuel is leaking out from the drain screw, we have replaced this with a new one. On closer inspection we have found fuel leaking from the air box Can anyone shed light on what may be causing this.

Sounds like the carb is over filling big time, so carb off and check the float and the needle valve and seat. I suggest an inline filter just in case the tank or tap is passing cr*p.

Yep. Stuck float valve is the most likely culprit. A sharp tap on the float bowl on the carb may free it.
If not carb off, check float moves freely and isn't leaking, so full of fuel. Remove float needle valve and check the pointy end and the basket it sits in for wear. (You can see a ring around them when worn.

Often it's a bit of grit stuck in the seat of the valve, so as above, an inline fuel filter is a good idea to stop it happening again.

Thanks guys. We shall get the carb off and give her a good check over. She has an inline fuel filter so all good there.
