Hey guys,

BCF Newbie here!

I'm hoping one of you might be able to help me out

I've got a 2010 Honda CBF125... had it about 2 months; got it on the cheap when my last 125 died a death to see me through until i can get my test done.

Anyways, last week it randomly started cutting out when going from Neutral into a gear, either 1st or 2nd

It feels like the bike thinks the side stand is down, however its definately not. sometimes it will be fine again straight afterwards, other times (like today) it makes me push it 2 miles home uphill.

Once its cut out, I can go back to Neutral and the bike starts fine but the second i select a gear, it just dies.

I read a few threads elsewhere about similar problems and have checked a few things before posting...

Its not trying to lurch forward when a gear is selected so I think I can rule out the clutch.

I've had a damn good look and I cannot see a switch on the sidestand, which i thought was weird, but maybe not.

I've got the back panel and the cover above the gear selector off at the moment and cannot see any switch at all.

It's apparent that somebody has messed around with it previously, as theres bits cable tied and duct taped up... not sure what they are yet.

Has anyone seen this before on this bike and can perhaps point me in the right direction?

could it be shorting somewhere that might cause this?

A bit over the top for a switch.
