Back to the original topic, we were chatting about this in the office. The MD happens to be a boat fanatic and has sailed across the Atlantic (among other journeys.)

Let's say Greta is setting off from New York to get to Western Europe. I don't actually care know where she is now...

Baseline: fly in less than 12 hours in an evil jet fuelled by kitten blood.
48hrs in a speedboat - just as evil
3 to 4 days in the fastest sailboat
>5 days for a more commonly available trimaran.
Over a week in a standard sailboat.

The news article at the top of this thread is from the 3rd of November so that's how she's managed to get to there in time to join the thousands of other people who've travelled from around the world to discuss how to stop everyone else from travelling internationally and other shit like that.
