I've a Suzuki EN125, like some other bikes it uses a 7″ round headlamp, side mounting, with a 3-way connector & a bullet connector. After I broke the original headlamp I bought a replacement off eBay. "This is non-OEM Product. Accessory Only!" Doesn't have wire tie to hold down cables, the screws holding on the front are not hidden, & the small bulb is not capless—but it does the job. The next was with normal bulb & 26 LED's, a little smaller & wrong connectors but was okay as the original bulb-holder fits it. Never connected the LED's to the bike (put them in my helmet!... & with scull mask for hallowe'en). Soon got another headlamp, even smaller, but a good 1 at a good price. Got it fitted at motorcycle shop, now that this lamp is broken I find that they re-wired my bike to go with it. Fitted full-sized chrome headlamp now, but as bike re-wired the dip-beam = dim, as electric current goes through both filaments. Changed bike to match colours of original lamp, but now high & dip beams swapped. Would it of been better to stick with compatible headlamps?

There will be only three wires to the headlight. Normally I'd say bad earth but leds only work in one direction.

Pictures please.

If both filaments are coming on dim then its wired up so that the earth connection is either the dip or main beam connection .
bit like this

12vdip-------#####------12vmain off-------#####---------earth

on main 12v through 1 filament to earth
on dip through both filaments to earth
should be

12vdip-------#####------earth--------#####--------12vmain
#####= bulb filament.

wired this way current only flows through 1 filament to earth on
either dip or main beam you just need to change a couple of wires round
