So what's the big deal with suggesting payday loans might be limited or regulated in some way?

They already are you naive retard.

I think you'll find the word you are looking for is ignorant.

I had no idea about that. I was simply responding to the cries of "PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!" from people in this discussion.

And how do you propose they do that? (I seem to recall the gypsy folk give gainful employment to the mental ill.)

I can't wait for government to get the balls and make the disabled and seriously ill work.. (that's a joke btw)

Easy-X I absolutely agree about the broken non-functioning benefits system. Even phoning to them to fix something they've gotten wrong can take 4 hours. It's designed to put people off from chasing malfunctions within the system. That's what you get for decades of privatisation within government departments and those private companies quoting silly low numbers to be awarded contracts. The result is tasks not being completed, completed incorrectly with mis-matches or completed 4 years too late.

Some people are getting too reliant on the state to do everything for them, from providing housing, to money then also telling them what to do and how to get through life. People are being dimmed down by a controlling government which is rapidly becoming a fascist dictatorship.

Yet you in favour of pensions Laughing

Please note: the system which you propose, if implemented, would lead almost immediately to a Corbyn majority government which you would then moan about and blame others for instead of "taking personal responibility for your actions".

Unless we do something...... this country will end up a third world country and we'll all be in the same position they were originally.

I think there is a genuine short-sightedness amongst a lot of people who don't appreciate that while the UK is one of the best countries to live in and has been for an awfully long time, it isn't set in stone that it always will be. We now have hate speech laws that are Policed as a two tier system and if they can get it to work we'll have internet censorship.
The government wants the power to limit what you can say and what information you can access.
Both are terrible ideas that lead nowhere good.
I would love to see a major party put freedom of speech in their manifesto and see the hate speech laws repealed.

Hammering the unwell has already started in Northumberland. The most severely ill people - those on the higher rate benefits are being charged a council tax. That's right - those being given funds to pay for carers to keep them alive are being taxed. It means that those severely ill people are going without care weekly or without food - they take their pick.
The county council expect those severely ill people who use care to keep them alive to go out and deliver newspapers or get a job. The County Council in Northumberland are Conservative.

Still believe social welfare is The Big Problem, I see. The thing which has been slashed dramatically over the past 10 years, and for which its misuse costs all of about 0.01% of public funds.

Question: At what point will you be able to sit back and say, "This is okay now. The public system of social welfare is in a good state, and doesn't need to be altered any more."...?
