My iPad mini 1 is currently running on a iOS 9.3.5 and states that it’s software is up to date. The internet is telling my that an iPad mini 1 will need 9.3.6 or it’ll become a well looked after paperweight shortly. If it needs an update why isn’t it doing it? Is about five days from the dustbin or just another internet scare story?

As far as I'm aware, the 9.3.6 update is mainly just to fix a GPS issue which will come into effect on 3rd November.

That's pretty much it. Any app that uses GPS location services won't work properly and there is the chance that accurate time/date info won't work, which again can upset apps.

Have you forced your iPad to check for an update, rather than just looking at the 'About' info and seeing it reported as "up to date"?

Well, if that is their plan they’re backing a loser here. If my iPad wraps its hand in I won’t be updating - unless by updating you mean leathering with a hammer!

I haven’t - but I’ll certainly try to. Time to flash up Mr Google!

APple and Steve Jobs can suck a fat dick if they think I'll buy anymore of their pish.
Restrictive fuckers.
It's never 'your' device if you can't fuck with the settings.

Why did it ever get to this where teck became so un-fuck-with-able?
