Im tempted to have a ride from Doncaster to Hastings via the B roads and not all A1. So towards Skegness, down to kings lynn, down to chelmsford - maidstone then bexhill. not totally sure of the route but thats the plan, worked out at over 6hrs riding so with stops a long trip. stay over at a relatives then ride home same way or may go west and up.

Do the 303 VERY early in the morning, trust me I know.
Sadly it does suffer as being a commuter route/route to the West Country.

I've been watch a programme about Canaletto and have decided I must visit Venice before it sinks and before I die.

I love his paintings....

Has anyone been there? Is it worth it or am I going to be disappointed?

I'll try and pick a time that's not half term / school holidays! Otherwise I'm not fussed. Last time I went down in the car we got clogged up in the holiday traffic over Bodmin Moor. TBH there are worse places to be on a lovely summer evening Very Happy

Well... gonna christen the bike tomorrow. Got it the week before Xmas, and having checked all the necessaries, and got it legal, it time to go for it.

Haven't ridden anything since the CBT in July, so a couple of times around the block to get familiar, and then westwards along the south coast I reckon.. Cool .. not too far till I've confirmed it's reliability. I dread the thought of it dumping me in the middle of nowhere. Crying or Very sad

Hoping 2020 will be full of long weekend jaunts. Dance!

So.. I christened the bike today.... went for my first exploratory 2020 venture lasting around 2hrs. Couple of times around the block to get accustomed to it, quick trip to the petrol station, topped up the fuel, then westward... Into the wind ...Ugh.. it was trying to rip me off it...poor old 125 was struggling to get me to 60, so decided not to go too far in case the reliability was not 100%. But wow it was great (well alot better) going in the opposite direction ...no trouble getting over 60....nice thing is that it was 5 degrees (handlebar temp gauge) and I didn't get cold, although I could feel a draught around my ankles.
I'd imagine it's colder in the rain.
