Right so, i have a lexmoto zsb 125 and im looking at making into a hybrid between a cruiser and a cafe racer. Primarily looking at getting the headlight fairing, handlebars, mirrors, exhaust pipe and wrap of a cafe racer and the rest will mostly be stock. Anyone know where i can get all this and whats most likely to fit

If you're gonna tell me to go get a jap then dont bother saying anything as this is the bike i have and i don't plan on selling it for a while. And dont comment if you're just gonna say crap about chinese bikes

No. Just, no.

Why the fuck would you want to ruin a perfectly acceptable bike?

Wtf is a boomer?

I did say something decent. If you try and modify with no experience (and you clearly don't, asking about which headlights will fit, ffs) at best you'll cost yourself a load of money that you can't recover and at worst it'll be a liability and will try to kill you every time you ride it.

I just need to source the parts. I have an idea of how to fit most bits but i have a mate who has more experience with it. I just need recommendations on where to get the parts or if parts from a ybr or any other model might fit it

You still haven't explained what a boomer is.

Cheap tarty bits for a cheap Chinese bike? Look no further than Ebay.

Your choice of (in order of cheapness):

1) Directly from China delivered in about a fortnight.

2) Say they are in the UK but are actually drop-shipping from China.

3) Actually have Chinese parts in stock in the UK so deliver them relatively quickly.

4) Online shop selling Chinese parts masquerading as something else.

5) Large retailer selling bespoke custom parts which are actually the same Chinese parts in a fancy box.

I too was intrigued as to the definition of 'boomer', having heard it in respect of a large male kangaroo. Maybe this helps from urban dictionary;

Boomer
A person who exhibits the following characteristics:
-anywhere from 30-75 years old*
-white
-owns a house in the suburbs
-balding
-drinks Monster Energy Zero Ultra
-calls his kids things like “champ” and “big guy”
-his riding lawnmower is the envy of fellow boomers
-hates and ridicules Millennials.

So, now we know!

Not a baby boomer then, who was born in the late forties when the soldiers came home from fighting nazis?

She's 25?! Shocked What the hell happened to her? She looks more "boomer" than any "boomer" I've ever known.

Back in the 90s, 26 year olds had less mileage, I reckon. Thinking of one in particular..

Did any other dyslexics see this when they looked at the user-name?

Maybe I just have Miss-Piggy on my mind; Snowie came back from town today with the dog, who she'd bought a new jacket. Apparently, it's supposed to suppress anxiety, something to do with being tight. Personally I thought that was just Snowie being a bit generous with the treats, but, no, its scientific! "Oh! You got the Dog a Compression-Suit!" And I exclaimed .... "DOGS IN SPACE" which is probably completely wasted on most millenials who wont remember the original, british made 'Muppet Show' boom-boom-badoom..... parp!

Why on earth would we wish to subject any half decent Jap bike to this kind of mal-treatment? Go For it!

But expect the shitting frog riding position to be a pain in the orifice, A-N-D I suggest you go look up the defanition of 'Custom', 'cos this sort of CafeBratChop, is hardly novel, unique or even just a bit different.

Nor should you expect a step by step DIY guide to building your own, one off not very original 'creation'... you have to go do, and make it up as you go along, and if you cant find an accessory parts catalogue to drool over, and have to have money-back guarantees that the bits you buy will fit, without any engin-uity or craft skills required... err... yeah... just go for it.... and keep us posted! Could do with a good laugh!

The bike you have will be worth less than it is now if you make it into a hybrid between a cruiser and a cafe racer.

What year is the lexmoto?

Seems a bit pointless given there are plenty of either cruiser nods (Keeway Superlight - hey, I'm biased, get over it) or café racer nods (e.g. AJS) that are already half way there.

The ZSB doesn't have the same length or rake as the Lexmoto Michigan. (edit: I have no idea why I typed this rubbish!)

"If you want to get to Dublin I wouldn't start from here."

Having said that you might want to nose through:

Get a marker pen the same colour as your side panels
and colour over the bottom of the Z and middle of the B
and people will think you have a 750 not a ZSB!

How cool is that eh?

I can verify this is 100% accurate, from someone who's generation is responsible for the phrase.

I've just realised I am 50% boomer then.

-anywhere from 30-75 years old* CHECK
-white CHECK
-owns a house in the suburbs CHECK
-balding FAIL I have an annoying amount of hair which seems to be growing faster and in more places than I find acceptable.
-drinks Monster Energy Zero Ultra FAIL Nice cuppa coffee does the biz.
-calls his kids things like “champ” and “big guy” FAIL Well I call my son Dude (he wears a dressing gown like the Big Lebowski), but woe betide anybody to nickname my daughter. She is lethal with a slipper - feckin hurts.
-his riding lawnmower is the envy of fellow boomers FAIL When grass gets out of hand I send the wife out.
-hates and ridicules Millennials. CHECK Of course.. who doesn't.

Mate of mine reckons the rot set in when they took lead out of petrol.

He reckons it causes a degree of reckless, risk-taking and antisocial behaviour which, if you think about it, is what is missing from the current "lead free" generation. Like looking for a way to rebel that fits in with how everyone else is rebelling.

When the "older" people on this forum were OPs age, they were honking about on largely unroadworthy, illegally derestricted (and quite possibly untaxed and uninsured) 125 2-strokes. Not putting exhaust wrap and single seats on them.

There is a certain body of scientific research backing this up.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lead%E2%80%93crime_hypothesis

I met a "young" lad (well, he was over 24) recently. Passed his DAS a while back and just bought a 1080 tiger sport. I asked him how fast it goes and he replied that he doesn't know, he doesn't like going fast and has never taken it over 80mph! What's that all about?

And did anyone hear the one on Radio 4 where they gave teenagers a 2 hour slot at school every week to learn whatever the hell they wanted and they decided they wanted classes in Adult Life Skills? Not rock music, not gaming theory, not motorcycle maintainance or driving education. Not just at the one school either, the results were repeatable.

They should start putting lead in humous.

It's already a custom style 125, you must have wanted that look to have gone out and bought it. There's no way you'll make a decent cafe racer out of that, the subframe and seat will be wrong and the tank is too short and round.

Anyway cafe racers aren't really that comfortable, so I don't see why you'd want to build one to ride daily. You could put some sort of cheap handle bar fairing on it, change the headlight, fit lower rise bars, and your naff looking exhaust wrap, but none of that will make it a better bike, and none of it will turn it into a cafe racer either.

If you want to sell this thing on, you'll get nothing for it once you've finished, you do realise that? I've spent £3000+ on my own 125cc bike, but I'm not daft enough to ever want to sell it or think I could get my money back.
