Are those adventure style helmets good for winter riding? They look like more airspace in front of the face so im wondering if they're less prone to misting up.

Cheers

S'alright for a sub £100 lid.

Did have to buy an ACU sticker from eBay to use it for enduros

Jands do an O'Neal sierra 2 for sub 150. It's not bad. Replaced my xlite x551 with one. Hunting around on ebay got me an agv ax8 dual evo for 120, if I could have got another x551 sub 150 I would have.

What was the sizing like on the O'Neal, I always imagine this stye you might tend to want one down if anything.
Or rather if it was at all loose it would be worse than an regular style.

Can't really contribute but I remember watching an RJ video a while back where he had a helmet like this on and the wind was strong enough to get underneath and lift it backwards: not sure if common issue but figured I'd mention.

edit: interested in the misting up / winter element, though, since my HJC i70 decided to blind me on the way home the other night despite pinlock / perfectly working. Rolling Eyes Laughing

I have it in an xl, my other lids are xl too. Tried a klim krios in xl and that was too tight, the O'Neal sits nicely and the peak doesn't really catch the wind at speed (not tried it on a naked bike though!) It came with a pinlock and that works well, drop down visor is handy and the actual visor has tabs on either side for easy opening with a catch on it that opens it a fraction when you need a bit of air through.

Thanks for that, I'm due a new one and it will probably be in this stye, O'Neal is a strong contender in mid-range price bracket.

Got one because I thought the peak would help with sun riding long distances touring etc. and I think it looks cool.

Its fucking shite at anything other than pootling around town. The drag and noise the peak makes is unbearable at motorway speeds. Also found that when it rains the peak does wierd things to the airflow underneath it, and instead of rainwater running off it all sits in the "gutter" above the visor and the wind is blasted straight down and forces the rain inside the visor resulting in wet face and annoying trickles down the inside.

Obviously YMMV but Ill be going back to a normal helmet.

If you bought it in the UK it will be fine. The ECE number is the euro safety reg number. Most important is that it fits properly. What make is it.

Those definitely appeal to me but I see a problem - it's the matt black colour. Looks awesome, really does but it's also going to 'hide you' from other motorists. A white lid stands out and makes you more visible but matt black absorbs light.

Cantabrian, check the label again, the serial number needs to start with 05 for it to be legal in Europe.

I was being lazy with the link. I actually bought a matt blue and flourescent yellow one and not from Soortsbikeshop. I got mine from visorshop but for £120 because there was a screw up with the original order. https://www.thevisorshop.com/en/Vemar-Kona-Desert-Helmet-Matt-BlueFluo-Green/m-26194.aspx

I have some good quality 3M reflective tape as well.

Im also waiting on this Ready Stock Motorcycle Helmet EL Cold Light Mod Kit Tron Helmets Mode Night Time Riding Signal Flashing Lights strip Bar DIY https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07VLM23J2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mY27DbZVB4PRY

Wont arrive until after xmas though.

All checked and as posted ECE 22.03.0101, serial number does not have 05 just 4076823, this was bought a few years ago in Spain at a reputable bike shop.
