Cobblers. The fashion of borrowing far more than you could afford was a late 90's and early 00's thing. You know, when Labour were also spunking up debts on the countries credit card, they couldn't afford to pay back.

Back in the 90's you still needed a deposit and couldn't get 100% and more mortgages, that was an early naughties thing.

Wow I didnt know the labour party were giving out mortgages, i got mine from the Halifax.

Imagine the s#ithole services would be in today if there hadnt been any investment in them in the 2000s. If the Tories had remained in power we would still have had a crash and the country would also have had its services run into the ground.

The answer is we need a huge war. Not a spanking of Afghani arses - a proper hardcore war. Things will be tough but once the war ends we'll work our way back to prosperity.

I'm afraid you're 10 years out, the buy now pay later culture was kickstarted by the relaxation of the consumer credit act, which came into force in 1985.

Up to that point, finance of any sort was quite difficult to obtain, having a credit card was not a usual thing and the hoops you had to jump through to get a mortgage were more than most people could manage, unless you had a long and perfect credit rating.

After 1985, the floodgates opened and finance companies were throwing money around like water.

I was selling cars at that point and in 1984 probably 10% of my business was financed, by the start of 1986 that was closer to 50% and we had employed an F&I man to deal with the workload.

I got my first mortgage in 1988, with zero credit rating and nothing more to back up my earnings than three handwritten pay slips, from a pad I bought in Rymans; included in that mortgage was stamp duty, legal fees and no deposit, so it was actually over 100%, all it cost me was the hire van to move my stuff.

As far as I can see, the trend of borrowing has snowballed out of control and Thatcher fired the starting pistol.

The amount of posts on FB I read from Labour supporters saying 'You don't have to like Corbyn to vote for Labour policies' shows me how much of a liability they know he is.

They would have stormed this election without the Corbyn/Abbott/McDonnell axis.

I think Corbyn would agree with you.

What you inanely refuse to take on board is that that very labour government was driven by a New Labour infatuation with adopting policy that was right wing.

Yeah, really right wing.

It seems like it’s the harder left the better for some of you socialist commies now.

As for Corbyn agreeing with me on Labour spending? That’s the funniest thing i’ve Heard all day! He’s captain magic money tree.

You racists/disabiliticists!

This ‘photoshopped’ image of Diane Abbott merely reflects the poisonous ignorance of disability within UK. Diane Abbott is a diabetic. This means that on occasions she may have to wear two left or right shoes to be comfortable.

Except their "actual image" is a different time and location. Did her carers bring the matching shoe?

Having seen Dianne Abbott flounder without shame in interviews I have wondered whether she is losing her marbles. Sad on an individual level, but as I've asked before, why are Labour keeping her front and centre, supposedly Minister-material? Loyalty or cruelty.

Floundering? Have you never seen the Tories health minister? He screws up every interview he ever has. I don't give a damn about Diane Abbott but sometimes tbe hate for her is at the level of a neurosis. It gets boring.
