there are a few bikes at work that have been restricted to 60 mph. they used to do 70 mph + but someone had an accident and they restricted them. i just wondered how they might have gone about this on a honda vision 4 stroke? i think they are 110cc.

I know a guy uses a Vison 110 for Deliveroo
and from what he says about it, it's restricted enough
as it is.
He said the other guys seem to prefer PCXs which are a bit faster
but I doubt it's the speed causing accidents anyway, just riding like twats.

I very, very much doubt that; 70mph would be good going for almost ANY four stroke 125... and the vision 110, isn't even 110cc! It only makes a 'claimed' 8.3bhp! And reviews suggest that the top speed is only 'about' 50mph!

Common error, is to presume speedo's read MPH when in fact they are calibrated in KMH, which happens with a lot of Chinky bikes and imports... good chance that a pizza delivery 'fleet' are foreign market models with click speedo's, which could account for it.

B-U-T, the short answer is that with an 8bhp air-cooled four-stroke engine, it was NEVER going to better 70mph!! They are NOT after-market restricted! They are slow a-bludy-nuff as stock!

If they actuallyu manage a 'genuine' 60mph, then they are not restricted! Are you sure that it hasn't been 'tuned'?

Specs seem to suggest its the old C90 lump bored out, as used in many pit bikes for which there are an awful lot of go
-faster goodies, like water-cooled four valve cylinder heads... now that offers intregue... a full-on 180-cc, four valve liquid cooled pit bike motor with gears, in something that looks like it aught to have a pizza on the pillion! lol.

Well my Yamaha Vity 125 was rated at 8.5bhp and could just about make it to 55mph, so 70mph does seem a bit fanciful.

You need a fully faired sports bike style machine and 12bhp minimum to reach a genuine 70mph+. I've had 8-10bhp bikes that were all 50-60mph vehicles.

It takes 15bhp and a fairing to reach 75mph approximately, and over 20bhp to hit 80mph.

If I could get 50mph from an upright unfaired 8bhp bike then I'd call that bloody good going.
