...I guess from want of lube Laughing

Yes, it's the indicator switch on my Rebel. Only when turning right and only when the weather's damp. I'll just clean it out and apply some dielectric grease but I just couldn't resist the post title Wink

I really couldn't hassle the dealer with such things, first world problems Smile Other than the indicator switch it's been a great bike.

Just noticed I've done over a thousand miles on it and the gearbox seems a lot better - certainly finding neutral is no problem now. About the only flaw I can see in the overall design is the front mudguard isn't long enough. I needs me one of those "Fender Extenders."

Same for my older CBF600 and i only really checked on the morning of it going in for its MOT.

stripped it down and gave it a good clean.
decent amount of silicon greases and vigorous working side to side seemed to have cleared it all up.

Oo! Missus no!…you must always lubricate your knob.
Would a squirt of WD40 not help?

I dunno, this place has really gone downhill since I joined.

This BCF, we have standards to maintain you know.
What we need to hear is something like

"I found copious amounts of Vaseline a firm grip and a good vigorous working
soon got all the stiffness out of it"

In the good ol' days someone, (probably Ste), would have just posted a picture of Nobcat Rolling Eyes

OP
Be careful which lube you go in with.

Oil based lubricants are not good for latex products the knob may have some latex accoutremental enhancements for your riding pleasure.

A water-based lubricant is recommended for natural parts.

Make sure the orifice has no foreign objects already inside it

Put plenty on it before you ease it in gently. Dont just go Bansai and ram it in like an amateur.

Why?

You've had the thing 5 minutes, it's a warranty problem and they get paid to put it right.

You've paid for the warranty in the price of the bike, take advantage of it and get them to fit a new part - what's the point of paying for insurance and not using it, when it's to your benefit?

Fair point. I suppose I'm a victim of my own keenness to fix stuff Smile
