CV Carbs?

On CV carbs, is the diaphragm or the spring more important???

Diaphragms look in good condition but with a crude airflow setup they seem to lift at different rates.

Both should match, and the slides should lift at the same rate. Are they moving smoothly in the bores?

Also, a crude setup will give crude results. A better test would be to apply a measured amount of vacuum above the slide of each one and see if they all lift the same.

I know they are long large and very soft springs , but you should be able to rig something up like this ~~ is the spring obviously. I is like a big washer or something to support the springs.

Vice could be a vice or one of those long furniture clamps
if the springs are the same rate the middle I will be the same distance from each of the other I's . If the springs are not the same rate the softer one will compress faster and so the distance between the I's won't be the same, the shorter side being the softer spring.

I'm in the process of changing the carb to inlet manifold rubbers and inlet manifold gaskets on my YZR750R to cure a suspected air leak. The slides on the carbs aren't lifting in synch on that at the moment, even though the diaphragms look OK.

Are the intakes OK?
