How do you tell if a memory card is fast or slow?

I have a draw full of SD and micro SD cards and was trying to choose a couple to use in wifies camera as from what I read, it can make quite a difference.

Can you even use a micro SD card in a camera with an adapter?

I've just taken a photo of a couple of SD cards just so if there is something I'm missing someone can point it out to me.

You will want a class 10 minimum most likely, they might still work but with slow write time - buffering between shots.
You might not see any effect on the image quality but video might suffer a range of problems (even at 1080p with those)
If buying new get minimum 32GB and look for write speeds of at least 90mb/s.
Micro SD with adapter is OK if you already have one fast enough, I wouldn't go for that otherwise, it's just another possible problem area after a few dozen cycles.
The memory card is very much an integral part of the device nowadays i.e. they are constantly 'chatting' if your card isn't suitable various unlikely sounding issues can ensue,

The card with a 4 on it is faster, but they are both slow. Most cards are class 10 now. Fast cards are A1, A2 etc which are application grade. It depends on the camera though as not all cameras support fast/large cards.

Depends on what you actually want to use the camera for (stills, video...), and the spec. of the camera itself.
