Hi

Small problem.. I have a ER6F 2006 and today I attempted to sync the throttle body but the readings showing on the carbtune are very low/no readings.

The tubes which go onto the vacuum nipples are a bit loose which shows a reading but when you move the tube it wont show a reading. However I then put some zip ties onto the tubes to secure the tubes onto the vacuum nipples and I am now getting a firm reading however what i dont understand is the owners manual for my bike says the reading should be 25.6cmhg + 10cmhg and the readings I am getting are a lot under that.

The readings I got on the first attemp where....

#1 10cmhg (tiny fluctuation up down)
#2 12cmhg (tiny fluctation up down)

The second attempt when I zip tied the connections for a tighter connection I got the following.

#1 14cmhg
#2 14cmhg

Now my owners manual says both readings at idle should show minimum 26.5cmhg... Am I really 10cmhg under the recommended figure or is my carb tune not showing the correct readings?

No matter what i do with the connection I cannot get a higher reading than 14cmhg so should I adjust the throttle body or leave it how it is?

Thanks.

If you're using a Morgan Carbtune then you won't be getting a calibrated reading of the true vacuum value, so ignore the manuals 25.6cmHG.

All you're looking for is the rods to line up.

You must ensure that those tubes fit tight for obvious reasons but you should also make sure the restrictors in the tubes are closer to the throttle bodies & not the carbtune.

Morgan carbtune's flutter, this is a good thing, it means those rods aren't sticktioned in the tubes.
