Just seen various pics of folk visiting Stonehenge over the years
on the Beeb website.
Was perusing the bikers in 1993 when something a bit odd
caught my eye.
Perfectly simple explanation? photo bombing by druid/ghost? photoshoppery?

I noticed it too, unless there's been more recent tinkering 1993 is kind of early for digital manipulation, it might just be a cut out figure/mascot.

There is a green lane round the back there, cant get up to the stones, but you can see them from the lane, still lawfully rideable at the moment...

I think it might be Hetzer.

60mph speed limit as well. Mind out for parked camper vans though.

It's clearly Arthur Pendragon.

Stonehenge has changed a lot. It's now a world heritage site, but it hasn't always been protected. When I was a kid people could touch the stones. I seem to remember graffiti, and people even climbing over them. Cloudy memory; though. Anyway, parking was never an issue - people would park at the bottom and walk up there. I seem to remember the path coming later, then the signs saying please don't pick up stones, and finally a barrier around it. The recent history of the site is intetesting. Has been reconstructed or relocated - something like that. Nothing is ever what it seems to be.
