Pretty much the same as it was going in then.

You don't think, "Brexit has kicked us up the backside," is Garner using Brexit as an excuse?

This was Garner's way of saying that Brexit has given them forward momentum towards greatness.

A holy martyr of Brexit wrote:
It was easy for us to become lazy, to say we'll go to France, Italy and Germany. Brexit made us look further afield.

Yes, that easy business in Europe might go, but this has kicked our backside and as we've done that, as we've looked further afield, the doors have opened.

It's opened our eyes. It's been an unbelievable change.

We will grow now in multiples - not a percentage bigger, but two, three or four times growth over the next couple of years from Asia alone.

And then religion met reality.

Since the start of the year, crude oil prices have decreased from $61.18 a barrel to today's $49.77.

But reductions at the pump have remained strangely absent.

Is this to do with Brexit?

Refining costs have gone up. Transportation costs haven't fallen and the government take 57.9 pence per litre tax (irrespective of the price) and 20+ pence per litre in VAT.

There isn't a whole lot of wriggle room when you take the tax off.

It annoys me no end when some government no mark witters on about fuel companies not passing the reduced cost onto the public while they push up the price to at least double due to tax. Evil or Very Mad

More proof that Brexit is good for us. You couldn't have afforded a hole if we'd stayed in the EU Smile

Only in that it's a ready made excuse for everything.

All oil deals are done in dollars and the fuels come from everywhere except the EU so why would Brexit have an effect? Theoretically now we are out our government could now lower the tax to below the EU allowable limits.

https://ec.europa.eu/transport/modes/road/road_charging/fuel_taxation_en

Obviously it won't happen though Laughing

Would doing that put the EU at a disadvantage?

Anything we do that does such a thing is forbidden.

Maybe. But there are already only two charger types: USB and Apple's connector, and Apple is thinking of moving to a design with only wireless charging which would leave USB as the only connector.
