Things have moved on a bit - have spoken to the vicar yesterday who was reasonable enough, but as he said, he couldn't comment on blame as he wasn't there; but he's also anxious to avoid an insurance company reaming if possible and suggested we talked again after I got a quote; fine by me.

Yeah pretty much what the body shop said, assuming the new bumper route (on the basis that the holed bumper is never going to be right with body filler etc). However, the bodyshop guy introduced a whole new concept to me, which is - on the basis that he agrees I have a strong case for 100% third party blame - that he hands it over to a company called "Accident Investigations" (anyone heard of them? Not lawyers) who will take over and deal will the third party insurers on my behalf without involving my own insurers. (They apparently take 6% of the body shop fee as commission). Sounds like the most likely way of ending up with at least a 'no-fault' claim, rather than a 50:50? But.

Other ongoing concerns though: my witness is ignoring me - presumably doesn't want to know - and I'm now worrying 'WTF happens if the third party driver miraculously produces a witness who will testify that it was him that was stationary, not me? Shocked

I used to work on vehicle recovery & often banked £800 to £1500 commision for introducing a non faulter to a claims management co'.
