 |
|
This is one of these things that kinda bugs me. Every single female (that I know of) that owns a car/bike/plane/some form of transport has always given their form of personal transport some kind of name.
My mums car is named betty.
My sisters car is named Mozart
my next door neighbors named their car sarah
but now I have discovered that some Men have started with this new trend as well.
My brother in law named his car hamster and my friend at work named his car 'optimus prime' (To be fair I could not figure out if he was joking or not, he has a very good poker face)
Am I going mad, is this is a new trend or has the drinking water in our local area been contaminated with lsd? ____________________ My wife asked me to get her something that goes from 0-100 in under 5 seconds for her birthday. ......................I got her a bathroom scale.

Shaggy is correct.
All boats and ships have names.
All the industrial steam engines and traction engines had names.
Steam railway engines were named.
The thing is though, they all had that elusive thing sometimes was called character and at other times is known as unreliability.
The modern car or bike has the 'character' of a lump of bland cheese. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

True, as I know that you have to name a boat with a name as it is bad luck (supposedly) not to give it a name, but I thought that this did not apply to cars....... Maybe I should name my bike the Rolling sarcophagus ____________________ My wife asked me to get her something that goes from 0-100 in under 5 seconds for her birthday. ......................I got her a bathroom scale. |

Ridiculous practice.
They shouldmt even have a gender.
Edit, having said that, I suddenly recalled that I have "the Snarley" and "the Milanese Falcon" in my current stable
But they don't have characteristics imposed upon them* by those titles. And definitely not gender.
*other than the generic coolness of being owned by me, of course. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

'Which bike are you going on?'
The red one.
'They're both red'
The slow one.
'That is not exactly what I call slow'
The other bike is faster.
One is called big red and the other little red. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

I would call one "the MV" and the other "the Ducati". But then, I've always been a bit weird that way ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

right...........this is surprising, so naming cars is quite common
crikey, I shall name my bike the widow-maker
..and my car will be named the four wheeled powder keg ____________________ My wife asked me to get her something that goes from 0-100 in under 5 seconds for her birthday. ......................I got her a bathroom scale.

Given their thirst for oil, I'd say that was perfect
Or would be if you could spell it correctly [/grandma nazi] ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017
