Only a doctor can give medical advice.

Stink wheel is the closest we have.

If it were myself, I’d take it easy for a few weeks, before doing anything heavy.

It'll be all good provided your idea of diagnosis is to have a hand rummaging in your arse.

"I'm in my 50s now so no spring turkey"

When you get as old as that, you can do damage to yourself by over-exercising, on top of what's already happened.

"50-100 press ups a day along with any other stuff like walking or mountain biking"?

Stinkwheel will only be able to offer advice after a thorough examination, which usually involves a shoulder length rubber glove and a pint of lubricant

Good news - You're still alive.

Bad news - You're defiantly going to die.

Dibs on your stuff.

Rip OP. But before that happens, you're going to have more ECG's and get pissed off at how the sticky pads pull hairs out.

Just out of curiosity, why did you wait a day?

Any sort of chest pains you should be at the hospital as soon as possible for the ECG and blood tests.

I had stabbing chest pains and thought it was going to be indigestion or something, my arse didn't even touch the seat about 1am on a Saturday morning, ECG was done and something showed up, I was admitted and had an angiogram done the next day.... OK so they tore the right coronary artery which induced a heart attack (and you definitely can't mistake the symptoms) and had it repaired with 5 stents, 18 months later I had to have an emergency heart bypass because one of the stents had blocked up.

That was 8 years ago and I still get chest pains which 99.9% I ignore now, but that .1% I'm still on the phone and still get told to go straight to the hospital just to get checked out

The symptoms - it wasn't just before you had a massive dump was it?

On a serious side your body is wearing out. Your mind is still 21 I expect but bodies cannot stay the pace. You need to learn to ease a little on the exercise. Keep at being fit though.

My own family has serious heart problems. I have had rumblings of something but never a diagnosis - like others I'm told to wait and watch things. Even if I get a bad cut and attend hospital the first thing they do these days is put me onto a heart monitor. (I still think eggs or the flu will get me)

As a final note: If you get symptoms do not wait. Hospitals and the ambulance service class this as a priority for a reason.

I suffer from heart failure. Yes, that is a medical term. I thought it was the end of the world, well at least enjoying life, it isn't.

I was told to watch what I did but still do enough exercise which to me was rather a mixed message. Laughing

Go back to the heart clinic, ask to see a specialist heart nurse (they probably won't give you an appointment with the consultant) and ask her specific questions. How much can I do. Is it liable to cause harm etc.

They will happily tell you. The first thing mine asked when I went to see her after being out of hospital for a while was 'Are you having sexual relations?'. It seems that was reasonable exercise for my heart. Thumbs Up

Exercise is all I got left, and damned if I'll give that up to die a slow death in my bed over months or even years. Rather drop dead of a heart attack.

If I could stroll 'cross the sands of time
I'd call my cronies up and drink some wine
Cos all we got's just a little time
Fo' we all have to say goodbye
An' I'm fightin' hard

Seems appropriate Smile

Times have changed.
He's not taking such a large margin of bcf revenue (due to the forum imploding in on of its self) so he tries to go in dry most times now. Saves a fortune on lube he says.

OP, Get back to the fecking hospital or speak to your GP.
One doesn't fuck about with heart stuff and Doctors could be glib if they are not clued up on symptoms.

You wouldn't be so nonchalant if a mechanic told you that the 'Rattling Choogh' from the front end of your cavity displacement flange was nothing to worry about. You'd be straight into Halfords with it for a 2nd opinion. 🙄

This x10.

Try to speak to someone who genuinely cares & genuinely understands your condition. Which is just about impossible in todays NHS.

Contrary to the cynical above most people will want to help.

Anyway, you can request the report of your ECG if it would help. Go back to your GP for this. There will likely be a summary section which is in relatively plain English rather than medical anacronyms.

In terms of exercise the procedure I'd advise would be to take it easy, keep walking and moving about. If you have been given the all clear though then it is likely there is nothing wrong, or at least not detectable. With regards to your ability to do press-ups and how that relates to your health, that is impressive and commendable but does not necessarily mean you have a good cardiovascular system (although likely better than most your age). Exercise post any heart cardiac intervention normally requires you to get your HR up to a reasonable level. Perhaps look at investing in a HR monitor so you can keep it within certain safe areas.

How is your diet, do you smoke/drink? Look at tidying up your diet if there is room to do so.

Another thing, if you return to see your doctor/cardiac physiologist write down lots of these questions to take along. That way you know they're answered. It's common to get patients e-mailing/calling back in because they've forgotten what was advised.

P.S. I work in a medical field but not directly cardiac related so please take this advice with a pinch of salt and contact your GP/cardiac specialist.

Also, hope you're well and it was just a blip Thumbs Up

Which is all very fine & dandy in the world of soshal meedya, but totally meaningless if it takes 6 fucking weeks to get an appointment at your local GP's surgery.

You can over work your heart for very little gain.
Like hitting the rev limiter won't make your machine go faster.
But managing pace will have a better outlook in a longer race.

Moderate exercise is wot you need.
Unless you are financially committed to box Mike Tyson before March 2020. 🤣
