(Car question) Nissan qashqai rims

Hello All.

i suspect someone might know...

Would a set of allows from a 2018 Qashqai fit on a 2011 Qashqai ?
they are both 17inch and have 5 studs but are slightly different spoke designs

I can't say whether the wheels would fit , if it's the same body shape then the answer is a probable yes.
However what I can tell you is this Wheels are measured in 3 ways

Diameter so 17" in this case.
Rim width in inches so maybe 6.5 also called J
Offset measured in mm from the mounting face of the wheel to the central axis, so maybe 25mm

So if you think about it a wider rim would have a different offset than a narrower one.

Check out your existing wheels first.

i did some further investigation.

the currently wheels are
6.5Jx17 ET40

where as i think the new wheels are likely to be
7Jx17 ET40

they use the same sized tyres.

the difference is the 6.5J vs the 7J
which i read relates to the an additional 0.5 inch width of the rim.

the body shape between the two models of car look identical.

Presuming PCD and centrebore are the same ,- yes.

The extra half an inch will mean 0.25" on either side of the centreline - if your current wheels are tight for clearance to brakes and suspension then it won't work, but I'd guess this will be OK given the extra diameter.

Other factors to consider:
- insurance
- type approval? Are the wheel/tyre size combo suitable for your car?
- tyre size - if you get bigger wheels you'll need lower profile tyres to keep the overall circumference about the same as what came off, in order to keep speed and distance measurements about right
- comfort - a bigger wheel with lower profile tyre will generally be heavier (more unsprung mass) with stiffer sidewalls, meaning a more 'sporty' ride
- BCD - I'd assume that if they are from the same OEM then the BCD will be the same, but worth knowing.

You can google the centre bore and pcd and check, there are websites out there that list every make and model.
If the centre bore is too large you can get reducing spigot rings to fit.

If you find out the exact sizes of your current alloys you can then look for any alloys that fit. I did this for a 2017 Subaru Outback to get a full size spare wheel. Ended up with a Toyota wheel in a very similar design and damn close to new condition along with a spigot ring which all in with a matching new tyre was a third of the price of a Subaru dealer provided spare.
