Considering a 701 later this year. I currently have a K4 gsxr750 which is absolutely useless on the roads, meaning it doesn't get used. I also have a Husqvarna SM610ie, but the idea is to sell both and replace with one bike.

Judging by the specs, I don't see why I wouldn't be able to do a trackday on the 701, and I imagine it would be a riot on the roads, or an alps trip.

So has anyone on here owned one? Anything to look out for?

Great.

Had any issues? Gearbox good? Pet hate on bikes is clunky boxes.

Tank range? Horrifically uncomfortable? Happy to cruise at motorway speeds? Responsive and fun?

nothing specific.. fuel pumps have a reputation of failure .. i bought a spare.

habit of false neutrals .. takin your time and being positive wit change helps .. as does more millage.

not clunky ..

140 - 182 miles

not designed for long distances..

indicated 70-80 mph is fine .. in standard trim it will surge at a constant throttle at those speeds .. you buy a dongle from https://www.rottweilerperformance.com/ .. it replaces the lambada sensor .. if it has an aftermarket exhaust and or induction system you`ll need an ECU flash..

yes .. but i don't stray far on it .. its used as an urban traffic tool when i`m plebbin around the local area.

I have the the older single spark SMCR which is very similar to the 701 bar the twin spark cyl head.

absolute riot on the road, admittedly I've spent thousands on bits and pieces for mine over the years but I can't think of a better bike for thrashing around.

Having had a 701 enduro, I'd have a SM tomorrow. But, when you look at prices, the 790 duke has a lot going for it. It also would tick more of your boxes!

I've downloaded Ride3 on the PS4 and been hooning Cadwell. It's not making me want to buy one any less IRL. Laughing
