The same lot who shit down the last Ukrainian passenger plane to crash?

The yanks are saying that a Russian Tor Anti-aircraft missile downed it.

I bet the various secret service agencies are looking very closely at the passenger manifests of both the Ukrainian and Malaysian planes for any correlation...

I thought he sounded a bit on edge compared with the day before. He'll be getting a lot of pressure from 'murica to get the six guns out.

I don't think so. The fact that Trump hasn't reacted on 'behalf of the West' gives weight to my shreddie-conceived theory. I suspect that somebody in air defence control pressed the button thinking they were doing god's work, not realising that the whole thing was pre-agreed by the leaders. I suspect said button-pusher will meet a sticky end...

If the plane was indeed shot down, it must count as the worst retaliation ever. Missile attacking a base with no fatalities then downing a plane containing the majority of your own people.

They're just people though. The Iranian government won't care. Trump won't care either. Any move made by any player in these games usually costs the lives of completely innocent people. It would be great if we could just withdraw from any involvement with the whole middle east but as long as we need oil then we're stuck with the problem.

If they did shoot it down, they should just read, word-for-word translated into Arabic, whatever press statement the septics released when they accidentally flight 655.

Careful: You'll have a load of yanks after you with their choppers saying it's not true.

However: yes, quite. All the grisly details are easily and publicly viewable online.

Yes, one can see clearly why the Middle East is such a flashpoint but why the neglect of Libya and Venezuela? (In the political sense.)

You have to take into account the quality of the oil and how cheap it is to extract. Saudi Arabia has top quality oil and is the cheapest to extract. It also has highly devoloped infrastructure from production to delivery. The only way we can extract ourselves from the middle east is if we make ourselves near zero in dependency on oil products.
Venezuela is very poor quality oil and not the cheapest to extract. Libya could be more of a player but is politically a basket case. However Turkey and Russia are having a good go at getting influence there so maybe Libya will be back in the game soon.
The United States of 'muricalunacy have reserves but a lot of that is shale product and expensive to extract. They have been stock piling heavily though, for obvious reasons. They also are enormous consumers of oil so need it to stay cheap so unlike the Saudis they cant really cash in if the price goes up. Or at least they can only cash in in the short term.

The Iranian regime really is a nasty bag of tw@ts. The only thing they've going for them is theyre Shia rather than Sunni so they're fundamentally opposed to those wahhabist b'stards who want to turn the world into a retarded re-enactment of a religeously crazed medievil past.

Really?

https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=7110

The only country with worse quality oil is Mexico! Granted they have the extraction, refining and distribution well organised.

Iranians hacking refinery control systems would be a million times more damaging than firing missiles at some army bases.

Both of those are in a political mess internally, probably best left alone as long as they keep producing.
Venezuela supplies the US cheaply and Libya sends most of it's oil to the EU.

Really.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/597669/cost-breakdown-of-producing-one-barrel-of-oil-in-the-worlds-leading-oil-producing-countries/

You can practically dig a hole in the Saudi desert and get a barral if oil.

Thank goodness they've admitted to it. I thought they were going to do the whole "how could we possibly screw up as we're the greatest nation on earth" type thing, ya know like the greatest nation on earth does.
