One of my hobbies is dabbling in microprocessor programming, but I'm exploring the pitfalls of creating a very small team to get a project off the ground.
The PIM is the dsPIC33CH128MP508 dual core by Microchip.com
If anyone is interested in exploring the possibilities of a joint marine based project, I'd be interested in hearing from them (preferably by pm). Must live in the UK.

Sounds expensive. Not the chip but the development!

I think you'll find a good chunk of ppl on here have had a dick about with Ardunios and Raspberry Pi's but chip is a bit more "out there."

What sort of application is it that you can't do it with a cheap Android tablet and an app?

I think that'll go for most forums TBH, but don't ask don't get.

I've even played with Arduinos to see what all the faff was about, but they're too plug & play for me, and not enough I/O ports, etc, etc, for my project.

I've dabbled with PICAxe, but I'm guessing you're after more in depth experience.

Ideally somebody that is comfortable with 'C' or assembly, & has a basic familiarity with Microchip products. Interested in fast boats would be a bonus.
