I had similar problems with the Superlight and now the Rebel:

Where the fuck can you get stuff for 1 inch handlebars? Everything I turn up is the so-called universal 7/8" Sad

No, I don't want chrome "Harley" grips with pointed ends that stab you in an off, skulls or leather tassels!

Nice! Bit bizarre that I need to visit an antique parts supplier for a modern bike.

"if you can't fix it with duct tape, you're not using enough tape"

Just get some 7/8th ends, and wrap tape around to make up to 1 inch. Thumbs Up

I think what gets my goat is eBay listings specifically for "CMX500 Grips" and then you read in the description: 7/8" universal, may fit other models... Evil or Very Mad 7/8" (22mm in new money) is not universal just common.

If you mean replacing the bars with 22mm and some shimstock, you get to replace everything on them at the same time. Grips, switchgear, perch's, the works.

I had the same problem with the work rat. Found crappy grips, and ended up using a dremek, then some sandpaper over a broom handle to fit 22mm switchgear when the indicator detent shat itself.
