As you most prob know the North circ has had speed along a large portion of it, F**kin pain in the Ass driving at 40MPH, yet I notice hoards of car drivers and some motorcyclists zooming past me. Pishes me right off as i'm on a ZX6R and these poxers think they're out running me! lol

Someone told me motorcyclist get away with doing well over the speed limit on the A406 and other ASC roads...true? Anyone here got a ticket from an ASC road?

Can't believe all these guys slamming past me are all getting tickets??!!

Am I missing something? Answers appreciated!

Can't speak for the camera's there, but the ones recently installed near the Horseshoe Pass *do* get bikes. Lots of them. there's usually several people bitching about getting a notice from them every time I go up there.

Most common trick is to take a break (smoke a fag, check tyre pressures etc) inside the zone as that drops your average like a rock.

My mate got a ticket from the average once heading westbound on the A406.

It was between one of sets of average cameras after the tunnel at the junction with bounds green near the BP. That's where they start and they don't finish until hangar lane. Those are the rear facing bastards that will catch you.

Also same goes for average on the same stretch heading eastbound between hangar lane and bounds green, you have to be careful until you clear the tunnel, then all the average is front-facing so you'll be fine.

Then again, having said that, I've blasted past average on A406 heading eastbound from Henly's corner past the tunnel at what must've been 80-100 and nothing happened for a couple years now. I wouldn't say risk it though, and I don't do that anymore.

Sometimes if I'm speeding/doing a wheelie or something I'll use the cars behind me as a marker. I then slow down and wait for traffic to catch up a bit so I pass the camera as if I was doing the limit if that makes sense. Most cars stick to the limit. You can have fun still if you know how to dodge the cameras.

I also heard changing lanes between cameras works, but yeah I've not been caught yet.

Thanks for the replies lads, Yeah I've done the lorry thing a few times... catch up to the side of the lorry as it passes through the cam view.

The other day, I was on the A316 with ASC's as well..(sigh) and a scooter zipped pass me, I caught up with him at the lights, and he told me he's always done well over 40mph and never got a ticket.

Sigh...missed the good ol'days, thrashing the ZX on a clear day... Before these fking ASC were deployed.. Made the best part of my day going to work!

EDIT: Yeh Meef the "changing lanes" loophole was with when they put up ASC's for roadworks...but they closed that loophole.

Ahh I see, thanks for confirming lol. I was always curious where/when that rumor about changing lanes came about.

In any case, fuck the A406, it's a shitty dual carriageway anyway and heavily enforced. Better roads starting from Abridge to Finchingfield, or up towards Colchester with many knee-down worthy bends in quick succession.

If you want speed and nothing else, just thrash it up the A1/A1M. No cameras and no police most of the time.
